Eating

  Collection Discovery video glossary

EATING corresponds to a series of actions of the body : food is chewed in the mouth, crushed in saliva, then sent down the oesophagus to the stomach where it is split up and plunged into an acid bath. After travelling down the intestine, components useful to the body's cells are released into the bloodstream and others are expelled naturally.
