  Collection Discovery video glossary

SLEEPING takes up 1/3 of our lives and is essential for our survival. During sleep, the brain alternates between two states: dreamless sleep, during which the body relaxes and organises information received during the day, and sleep with dreams, during which the brain is active and the eyes move, but the body remains still.
