Hearing

  Collection Discovery video glossary

The sound we perceive when we HEAR results from the conversion of vibrations in the air by the brain. The vibrations reach the eardrum, which passes on the information to nerve cells. In turn, they transmit the message to the brain. This message is then interpreted as a sound.
