Synapsis

  Collection Health video glossary

A SYNAPSE is the linking point between two neurones. Neurones constantly emit millions of nerve impulses that release a chemical transmitter at the SYNAPSE. This transmitter attaches to the neighbouring neurone and stimulates it: the nerve signal is propagated. Certain drugs act on the SYNAPSES.
