A TRANSPLANT is the replacement of a sick organ with a healthy one taken from a donor. For a TRANSPLANT to be successful, the recipient's cells must be similar to the donor's. If not, the recipient's body may attack and reject the transplanted organ. To facilitate the organ's acceptance by the body, the patient is given anti-rejection drugs.
