A TROPICAL FOREST is a gigantic reserve of animals and plants. In the heart of a hot, humid country, it facilitates organic exchanges, the replenishment of the soil and the replacement of living organisms. Today, as forests are cleared for their wood and minerals or to produce farmland, their soil is impoverished and their resources are destroyed.
