  Collection Environment video glossary

A WATER TABLE is porous underground rock filled with water. This water is used by human populations and drawn on by plants. The water table is filled by rain, exchanges its water with the water in rivers and evaporates when the weather is dry. The WATER TABLE also absorbs every dangerous or harmless substance poured onto the ground.
