Fusion

  Collection Atom video glossary

Nuclear FUSION refers to a reaction between two light atomic nuclei that "melt" into each other to form a new, heavier nucleus. A Tokamak can be used to reproduce this process, heating atoms and separating nuclei and electrons. Light nuclei can also be collected in a microballoon and hit with laser beams.
